GI Pathogens Profile Lab Test (Includes lab interpretation + 30 min consult)

The GI Pathogens Profile is unique in the field of comprehensive stool testing. It relies exclusively on quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology.

The Pathogens Panel measures pathogenic organisms that are known to cause hospital-acquired infections (HAI) (such as C. difficile or norovirus), foodborne illnesses (such as E. coli or Salmonella), and common causes of diarrhea (such as CampylobacterShigella, and rotavirus A). This panel measures viral causes of gastroenteritis unavailable by other common stool tests, as well as parasites such as Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and Entamoeba histolytica.  Helicobacter pylori and its virulence factors and antibiotic resistance genes are also included.

This is NOT as comprehensive as the GI-MAP test, which also looks at dysbiosis, digestive, and other markers. But this test is good for re-testing after a protocol for one of the above pathogens was found on the GI-MAP test.
